   it is garage sale season keep them eyes peeled

   last weekend ND had its garbage to gold sale…

   would of been agreat opertunity to
   aquire a cheap bike

   i suggest keeping your eyes in the south bend tribune want ads

   Riding around ND campus I saw over a hundred bikes abandonded at the end of the school year. They were tagged with a date that led me to believe the school would eventually collect them. I wonder what they do with them. They could practically start a Amsterdam style public bike program!

   I think they auction them back to the students at the beginning of the next year, with the proceeds going to charity.

   It’s a bit silly, in my personal opinion: if they’re going to store them all summer anyway, why not just charge a fee for that and donate that to charity? I suppose they’d still have to do something with all the bikes not stored, then.

   I wonder if any of the bikes aren’t sold, and what they do with them. I think there is a charity in Goshen based around rebuilding junk bikes?
