Peter J. Kaczor

I didn’t know Peter J. Kaczor personally but his death hit close to home for me, as I imagine it has for most of us in the cycling community.  Besides the “that could have been me” feeling, I also mourn the loss of a good man, husband, and father who died too soon from causes we’re working to prevent.

With that in mind, here is his obituary, as published in the South Bend Tribune:

Memorial Fund for Peter Kaczor

A memorial fund has been established in Peter Kaczor’s name for his 8-year-old son Samuel Kaczor at 1st Source Bank in Granger.

New Yorkers gets a taste of non-motorized freedom…

Take a look at this multimedia presentation from the New York Times. A very large section of Park Avenue was closed to motorized traffic yesterday and opened to foot and non-motorized traffic. It was a huge success.
