Posted by Henry Scott on September 17, 2008

The city of South Bend now has a webpage dedicated to bicycling in South Bend. Notably, the page contains a link to a map, in PDF format, showing both implemented and planned bicycle routes. Thanks to Tom Price from the mayor’s office for bringing this to our attention!

Changing Transportation Culture

Posted by lhierony on September 12, 2008

I wonder how many cyclists realize that the AAA (American Automobile Association) was started in collaboration with cycling clubs. Posted by Henry Scott on September 11, 2008

Bill Moor wrote an article for yesterday’s Tribune about two Bethel College juniors who successfully biked all the way to Seattle earlier this summer (LINK). I found this story particularly interesting because neither of them had much cycling experience prior to making the trip: they wanted to go, so they basically just started pedaling!

Momentum

Posted by Adam Bee on September 11, 2008

Momentum: The Magazine for Self-Propelled People is distributed free in seven US cities (including Chicago) and many more in Canada.

They also have their current issue online for free, as well as their archives.  I’m usually lukewarm towards cycling magazines, but this one is both easy on the eye with compelling articles.  It’s also the only magazine I know of dedicated to utility and urban cycling.
