Why I Ride: Winter Edition

Phil G-E’s post on winter cycling (below) reminded me of my all-time favorite ad:

I’d say that effectively sums up the situation.  Driving isn’t a necessity–it’s taking the easy way out.  The best part is that anyone can understand the appeal, no matter how entrenched they are in car culture.  Whatever your political leanings, I think we can all agree that foreign oil is inferior to American manpower.

If your coworkers are bewildered by bike commuting, maybe this can help them figure it out.

  1. Not only has this ad further motivated me to ride for winter, but it ALMOST made me think about drinking high life…almost:)

    Yeah! It’s a more effective ad for bikes than it is for beer!
