   I was particularly glad to see Sec. Ray LaHood’s comments. As a Republican from Peoria (my boyhood hometown), I had supposed he might not be too keen on transportation alternatives.

   It’s good to see that, while he might not be as good as Oberstar or Blumenauer, he’s apparently at least open-minded.
