This site was originally created as “South Bend Bikes” by Jerry Hinnefeld in 2007. Subsequently, the scope has broadened and we’ve renamed it “Bike Michiana”.  This site is meant to be an umbrella resource to promote all things bicycle-related in the Michiana area.  Henry Scott is the current site administrator.

Most of the content for this site is presented in blog format, and readers are welcome and encouraged to comment on existing posts. We are always looking for new contributors, so contact us if you like to write about bicycle issues! Here are some detailed instructions for how to contribute: LINK.

We have also created a discussion board through Google Groups also called Bike Michiana; there anyone can create new threads in addition to posting replies. You can participate in the group by joining, which is free, and you can also control whether or not you receive email notification as new posts are made to the group.

If you find outdated information on the site or would like to suggest additional content, please let us know. Also, if you’re part of a local group of cyclists and would like a simple web location to post things like your mission statement and contact information we will be happy to add a page listing your details.
